Vacancy Announcement – Field Agent for Chinese Immersion, Delaware Department of Education

Description: The Delaware Department of Education has an immediate opening to support the increasing number of Chinese immersion programs across the state. The Chinese Immersion Field Agent is a full-time position in the Language Acquisition Workgroup in the Teaching and Learning Branch at the Delaware Department of Education. Major responsibilities include providing regular and on-going coaching, curricular, and instructional support for Chinese immersion teachers and administrators across the state. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in immersion education, in Chinese language, or in elementary education with advanced-level language proficiency in Chinese. Three (3) years relevant work experience in elementary classroom teaching, immersion teaching, or elementary world language teaching is required. The public education system in Delaware is guided by a clear vision to avail a world-class education to every one of its 138,000 students so that each will graduate ready for college and career.
